Statement on Leadership Transition at SoCore Energy

October 29, 2015

SoCore Energy, one of the nation’s largest solar developers, announced today that Founder and President Pete Kadens has decided to step down from his role leading the company he originally founded in 2008. Kadens will leave his position effective December 4, 2015, but will continue in an advisory capacity into the first quarter of 2016. Kadens will be replaced as president on an interim basis by current Chief Financial Officer Rob Scheuermann, who has been with SoCore since 2012. SoCore is a wholly owned subsidiary of California-based Edison International.

Over the coming weeks, Kadens will work with Scheuermann to ensure a smooth leadership transition at SoCore and will continue to advise Edison Energy Group, Edison International’s subsidiary of competitive, unregulated businesses in the energy industry.

Ron Litzinger, SoCore’s chairman and president of Edison Energy Group, said “Pete has been instrumental in building one of the most successful solar developers in the commercial and industrial space over the past seven years and has overseen expansion into the wider solar and storage market. His experience and insight have helped create a unique platform for future growth and while we will clearly miss Pete’s leadership, he leaves a legacy which will serve SoCore long into the future.”

“I am delighted that Rob Scheuermann will take over as president of SoCore on an interim basis. His experience and background will provide the leadership for continued growth and it also reflects the strength of the management team at SoCore. We look forward to a smooth and successful transition,” said Litzinger.

Kadens said “While it is always hard to leave a company you founded and subsequently the honor of being part of Edison International since 2013, I am excited to be transitioning interim leadership to Rob to take SoCore to the next phase of growth.”

Rob Scheuermann added “Working with Pete over the past couple of years has been one of the most exciting times of my long career in energy. I am honored and looking forward to working with our customers, team and partners to continue to underpin SoCore’s leadership in this fast evolving sector.”
