October 12, 2017

Jonathan RobertsMidwest Energy News announced its 40 Under 40 Cohort for 2017 on October 10th. Congratulations to Jonathan Roberts, Senior Project Manager at SoCore Energy, who was recognized as one of the top 40 Under 40 energy leaders in the Midwest. This is a great achievement and reflects Jon’s leadership of some of SoCore’s most complex client projects across the U.S., but also his wider activities in the energy industry including his continued international support for Engineers without Borders.

Jon is a NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional and engineer. To date he has personally overseen the development, execution, and commissioning of 40+ MW of multi-site, nationwide Solar PV project portfolios valued at approximately $64 million. He is passionate about ongoing career opportunities involving the advancement of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and serving as part of a team that has helped construct and achieve commercial operations for 94 MW of solar PV systems in 21 states. As a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders, Jon has traveled globally teaching, volunteering, and implementing renewable energy projects in countries including Brazil, Costa Rica, China, Egypt, Japan, Madagascar, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nepal, Panama, Pakistan and Peru.

Jon joins the ranks of SoCore’s previous winners — Frank Bergh, Laura Caspari and Madeline Klein — in making SoCore one of the most consistent contributors of energy talent in the Midwest. He will be honored along with the rest of his 40 Under 40 cohort at a ceremony in November in Chicago.
