SoCore Employees Team Up with Special Olympics Illinois to Give Back to Chicago
On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, SoCore Energy employees took several hours out of their workday to volunteer with Special Olympics Illinois. Athletes from all over the state of Illinois bused in to Marquette Park in Chicago to participate in the 2015 Floor Hockey Skills Competition. It was obvious that the competitors had been practicing and preparing themselves for weeks before, as there was a lot on the line. The winners of each Floor Hockey Skills event, which included shooting accuracy, target passing and speed, would go on to compete in the State Floor Hockey competition at Northeastern Illinois University in November. SoCore employees directed the events, kept score and cheered the athletes on throughout the day.
Volunteering and giving back to the Chicago community is a part of the company culture at SoCore, and something that is very important to the employees. SoCore employees volunteer together as a group at least once a quarter, in addition to attending various charity events, holding donation collections and traveling around the globe on solar philanthropy trips. SoCore Energy is helping to brighten Chicago, and is enjoying it every step of the way! View more images of this event here.View All Blog Posts
